RFID-based brand protection in tool production

An RFID-based brand protection solution was developed for a well-known tool manufacturer. The tools are equipped with dual RFID tags and uniquely initialized in production. These unique transponders can then be used in logistics (UHF) and by the customer (NFC) for batch tracking.

All of the manufacturer's products that have a serial number (type plate) are also equipped with this RFID transponder. During production, these are clearly identified using an RFID handheld. Each tool therefore has a unique serial number and can therefore be traced throughout its entire life cycle.

The brand protection solution offers the producer a dashboard with KPIs and a web application with various reports to track the serial numbers of the tools in production and to carry out necessary evaluations.

The solution is multi-client capable and allows the customer to manage the processes of its various producers.
